Georgia has accused Russian MI-8 aircraft of violating its airspace at about 12:00 near the village of Gugutiantkari.
The State Security Service of Georgia has confirmed the violation and stated the move is ‘yet another provocation by Russia.’
"The hotline is activated and the EU Monitoring mission is informed,” the State Security Service said.
The Russian aircraft spent several minutes above the occupied Tskhinvali region in the vicinity of Gugutiantkari.
This is not the first time Russian aircraft has violated Georgia's airspace.
The so called borderization process was launched by the Russian occupants in Gugutiantkari on August 7, when they erected iron poles and later fenced them. They stopped their illegal actions during several days. But the so called borderization process is underway since August 15. Three families have so far lost their homes as a result of this “borderization".
