Ambassador Degnan: International observers are the eyes and ears of the world during major elections around the world

The U.S. Embassy to Georgia said on Thursday that international observers are the eyes and ears of the world during major elections around the world.

"The U.S. Embassy is proud to support observer teams working in Georgia from the International Republic Institute, the National Democratic Institute, and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems," the U.S. Embassy sain in a ststement.

“Rigorous election monitoring is essential to ensuring legitimate elections with credible results that are trusted by the people,” US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan told the observers as they discussed their work.

Elections are scheduled to be held in Georgia on 31 October 2020 to elect the 150 members of Parliament.
