U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan hopes there will be opportunites for American businesses to invest in large infrastructure projects throughout Georgia.

“We would like to see more American investment in large infrastructure projects throughout Georgia, including the Anaklia project. I think it is a very promising initiative to build up a deep-sea port in this area and that could be a big contribution for Georgia’s economic growth. As you know, Georgia has always been a land bridge and has great potential in this regard,” she said in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“So, we are hoping there will be opportunites for American businesses to invest not just in Anaklia Port Project, but also in other major infrastructure projects along the Black Sea and elsewhere in Georgia. I think this is an area for opportunites between our two countries,” Ambassador Degnan added.
