Please consider before traveling to Georgia whether there are any factors in your specific case that increase the risk of being refused entry, the Polish Embassy in Georgia has issued an appeal to citizens.
In addition, the Embassy warns them about the fines that may be imposed on foreigners for participating in demonstrations.
"Due to the numerous cases of refusal of entry to Georgia for foreigners, including citizens of EU member states, please consider before traveling to Georgia whether there are factors in your specific case that increase the risk of refusal of entry: this may include participation in demonstrations or being in their vicinity, as well as certain activity on social networks. We would like to remind you that the Georgian authorities have the sovereign right to assess the risk factors for the entry of a foreigner, and also, the decision to refuse entry may apply to holders of a residence permit in Georgia. We would also like to note that for participation in demonstrations, even for alleged participation, foreigners may be subject to heavy fines, and re-entry into Georgia may involve immediate payment," reads the statement.
