The Asian Development Bank (ADB) remains committed to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the development of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Georgia.

  “In September 2018, ADB signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the development of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Georgia. We remain committed to that agreement. We believe the port will transform regional connectivity and trade, and will help establish Georgia as an international logistics and business hub”, the Asian Development Bank told the Accent.  The construction of the Anaklia Drainage Port started on December 20, 2017. The opening of the first phase of the Port is scheduled by 2021.
