Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has said that the country should have the Anaklia Deep Sea Port as soon as possible ‘to ensure full implementation of its transit function.’

‘I would like to convince the Georgian society that the construction of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port is an integral part of our strategy. Moreover, we managed that this project is on a list of a lot of international financial institutions. Therefore, it is very important to start realizing this project as soon as possible. Of course, negotiations are still underway, including with creditors. In addition, there are specific obligations that should be fulfilled by the Anaklia Development Consortium and its shareholders. Today we should be focused on specific outcome, which means the construction of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port at a rapid pace,’PM Bakhtadze told reporters in Zugdidi.

‘And once again, it depends on the fulfillment of the obligation; it depends on the negotiations that are still underway,’ he added.
